Character Review

We see BOBBY'S WORLD through the eyes of 4 year old BOBBY, the alter ego of comedian Howie Mandel. Bobby's two biggest character traits are his penchant for taking things literally and letting his imagination get the best of him. Bobby, a short, toddling instigator of mischief, goads his siblings into courses of action that produce hilarious and timeless results. |
WEBBLY, the stuffed spider. Essentially, a face with eight legs, Webbly's expressions are worth a thousand words. In addition to being Bobby's security blanket, Webbly is a multi-functional stuffed arachnid, serving as everything from an escape ladder out of Bobby's play pen to a monster stopping slingshot. Bobby's fertile imagination allows for the unique incarnations of Webbly's usefulness. |

HOWIE GENERIC, Bobby's animated dad, is a businessman facing the same trials and tribulations any father faces, but he has the ability to humorously spar with his offspring. Who else would tell his son the bedtime story "The Boy Who Cried Airwolf"? |
MARTHA GENERIC is Bobby's attractive, contemporary, sweet, nurturing, caring and concerned full-time mother. After two older children, Mom is calm and unfazed by Bobby. Bobby is amazed his Mom can yell at him without turning around when they are in the car and believes when she say she has eyes in the back of her head, that she does! |

KELLY is Bobby's 14 year old sister. A suffering pre-teen, Kelly is a walking dichotomy: desperate for recognition of her personal identity while scared to death of standing out in a crowd. Her greatest interests are clothes, boys, girlfriends and music. Her greatest fear is being embarrassed. |
DEREK is Bobby's 10 year old brother. His days are filled with great adventure -- riding his skateboard, playing baseball with his buddies; or with great boredom -- keeping an eye on Bobby. Derek has as much sensitivity to Bobby's growing pains as any older brother -- none. |

|
ROGER, a large, long-haired, English Sheep dog is the family's pet. Although only a family pet to the others, he is Bobby's confidante, co-conspirator, and closest friend. His long hair is also the residing place of innumerable things -- a squirt gun, a baseball cap -- all Bobby has to do is reach into the fur and pull it out -- much to Roger's surprise. A big, lovable, galoot of a sidekick, Roger does his best to protect Bobby, but he's a coward at heart. |
AUNT RUTH is Bobby's cheek-pinching, good-natured, well-meaning Aunt. Though more responsible than her brother Ted, she is not without her daffy moments. Who else would really believe Bobby could have been kidnapped by aliens? |
 |
|
UNCLE TED is Bobby's Mom's traveling salesman brother. He is a red-nosed obnoxious occasional visitor who loves to pinch, squeeze and 'noogie' Bobby, Derek and Kelly. His childlike attitude makes for a strong bond with Bobby. |
CAPTAIN SQUASH, The Caped Zucchini is Bobby's super hero idol. A lover of all products in the Captain Squash action figure line of merchandising, Captain Squash often appears in Bobby's fantasies. |
